The first, and most important, step in choosing a new air conditioner is to select a suitably sized unit for your room or house.
Ducted air conditioning units do not have to provide star ratings or energy rating labels so may display 'N/A' for the star rating.
In winter, consider setting the thermostat to 18-20 degrees. In summer, consider setting it to 25-27 degrees. Setting it higher for heating or lower for cooling could cost you 10% more in electricity bills for each degree.
